Rev. Melvin Rayappa, SJ, ’08 Celebrates Easter Liturgy for Regis Community

Rev. Melvin Rayappa, SJ, ’08 returned to the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola today to celebrate Regis's Easter Liturgy. It was Fr. Rayappa's first time celebrating Mass for the Regis community since his ordination last year.

Fr. Rayappa was joined on the altar by President Rev. Christopher Devron, SJ; Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Formation Rev. James Ferus, SJ; Special Assistant for Ignatian Formation Rev. Kevin Spinale, SJ; history and Latin teacher Rev. Arthur Bender, SJ, '67; and Assistant Director and Promoter of Vocations for the USA East Province Rev. Brendan Gottschall, SJ.

During his homily, Fr. Rayappa spoke about the meaning of being men for others and challenged students to share their gifts with those around them.

"We are called to love others, to share with them because of our compassion, our empathy, our genuine care," said Fr. Rayappa. "You can choose to do this or not choose to do this, but let me tell you, something incredible happens when you do choose to fully give yourself out of love to others."
