Regis Community Heads Outdoors for Annual Bear Mountain Day

Students and faculty boarded buses Friday for Regis's annual Bear Mountain outing. One of Regis's most cherished traditions, the trip to Bear Mountain has offered generations of Regians a day of fun away from 84th Street. Students took part in a range of recreational activities, including basketball, soccer, Spikeball, and frisbee, as well as a hike led by Mr. James Scacalossi '83 P'15'20 and Mr. Edmund Dee.

"It's an amazing way for us to come out of the classroom, students and faculty alike, to really connect with one another," said Alex Ruggiero ’26.

Throughout the day, 200 students divided into teams to compete in Catalyst's fourth annual charity two-hand touch football tournament. Proceeds went to St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, which offers Catholic education to students in Kibera, one of the largest urban slums in the world.

The day culminated with the annual senior vs. faculty softball game. The faculty prevailed, 19-5.
