Ms. Meghan Kiernan Honored With Patricia Hannon Ignatian Educator Award
Math teacher Ms. Meghan Kiernan was honored with the 2025 Patricia Hannon Ignatian Educator Award at the annual Spring Convocation on Thursday. Ms. Kiernan, who joined the Regis faculty in 2007, was celebrated for her care for her students, her dedication to Jesuit values and Christian service, and the many ways that she lives the mission of Regis.
Colleagues praised Ms. Kiernan for serving the Regis community in the classroom and beyond.
"There is nothing she has not or would not do for Regis," said one nominator.
"It never ceases to amaze me how much she has given herself to the school," said another nominator. "I don’t think there is another person who is wearing more hats than Meghan."
The award is named for the late Mrs. Patricia Hannon, a profound presence in the Regis Science Department for 23 years. Hannon left a lasting mark on decades of chemistry students and was revered by her peers for her approach and commitment to teaching. Since her passing in 2005, an award in her memory has been bestowed on a member of the faculty who, like Mrs. Hannon, has contributed to student development inside and outside of the classroom.
Ms. Kiernan's name will appear alongside those of former winners on a plaque in the 84th Street foyer.
