24 Students Confirmed at Easter Liturgy

Twenty-four Regians were confirmed today as our school community gathered for Mass at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola to celebrate the Easter season. With the Most Rev. Frank Caggiano '77, the Bishop of Bridgeport, serving as the Mass's primary celebrant, these 24 students renewed their baptismal promises and were confirmed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The following Regians were confirmed during the Mass: Denis Acosta ’27, Gabriel Becerril ’28, Dylan Brennan ’27, Aiden Cha ’27, Preston Chan ’27, Sebastian Cunto ’25, Adam Faughnan ’27, Sebastian Fernengel ’28, Caleb Garutti ’26, Connor Garutti ’27, Eric Greenlund-Caraballo ’28, Matthew Humala ’27, Constantin Lafourcade ’27, Jude Morrison ’25, Simon Pang ’27, Ben Passarelli ’26, Eamon Prus-Shearer ’27, Evan Rosado ’26, Eli San Emeterio ’28, Benjamin Schestag ’28, Milo Scutro ’27, Aidan Shrekgast ’27, Andrew Watson ’26, and Alessandro Zanotti ’28.

In addition, Sebastian Fernengel ’28 and Eric Greenlund-Caraballo ’28 received their first Holy Communion during the Mass.

“Brothers, you have come to Regis and you have been given a great gift," said Bishop Caggiano. "God blessed you with gifts, intellect, and talent. You will go forth into the world and lead that world in the boardroom, in the courts, in business and industry, in education and universities. God has put you here in this remarkable experience that is Regis so that you can be formed in mind and heart and with the grace of the Holy Spirit to go out and show the world the better way.”

With students on Easter break last week, the Regis community also had the opportunity to pray together for the first time since the passing of Pope Francis, who will remembered in the coming days during a memorial Mass and in a schoolwide prayer service.
