Regis Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Bake
Students, family members, faculty, and staff gathered in the cafeteria today to take part in the annual Sweet Potato Bake, a tradition at Regis dating back to 2003.
The event is Regis's contribution to the Street Corner Gourmet Thanksgiving Project, in which Catholic schools coordinate to provide meals to those in need. On Thanksgiving morning, all of the participating schools bring their portions of the meal to a single location for distribution.
This year, members of the Regis community came together to make 300 pounds of sweet potatoes for the meal.
"I love being part of this incredible effort each year as our community of students, family members, faculty, and staff come together to put our gospel-driven faith into action," said Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Joseph Amatrucola, who helps organize the Sweet Potato Bake. "It doesn’t get more grassroots than this."
