A Look Back
A Regian in the NBA
Tom Kelly '41 has the unique distinction of being the only Regian to play professional basketball in the highest of arenas. In 1948 he was drafted by the Boston Celtics of the Basketball Association of America, which would become the NBA a year later. Read about Kelly and his career here.

The Regis Seal
Are those owls in the Regis seal? Or are they eagles? Or maybe griffins? Read about the origins of the imagery in our school seal, and see how the research of one Jesuit alumnus in 1953 uncovered the meaning behind the birds in the Regis seal.

Frank S. Nugent '25
Beyond The Searchers, Frank Nugent's career as both a film critic and a screenwriter was quite successful, including an Academy Award nomination and multiple Writers Guild of America Awards. Read about Nugent's career and the role he played in some early classic films.
